Welcome to DirigoWoods
Dirigowoods is home to Rick, Martha and their canine companions. Located in beautiful mid-coast Maine, DirigoWoods sits on 233 acres of land which is part of the Three Streams Forest, almost 5,000 acres of forest, one of the largest undeveloped tracts of land on the coast between Kittery and Acadia National park. Dirigowoods has 190 acres of mixed woodlands and 43 acres of wetlands.
There are numerous beaver dams and small ponds, pine forests and marshes that attract all varieties of wildlife.
Dirigowoods has many types of mammals including deer herds, several moose, red fox, coyotes, weasels, fischers, bobcats and the occasional black bear. The rare Canadian Lynx has been observed in the area.
Birds include Bald eagles, Osprey, nesting Great Blue herons, Pileated woodpeckers, Northern Harriers, Pine Grosbeaks and large flocks of Bohemian and Cedar Waxwings.
200 acres of Dirigowoods have been set aside and a conservation easement has been gifted to the Medomak Valley Land trust to keep Dirigowoods "Forever Wild" for future generations to enjoy. This gift helps create a more than 500 acre preserve with almost 2,000 feet of shoreline being protected along Watermans brook a tributary of the Medomak river.
If you look at a map of Waldoboro, Maine follow Route 220 South along the Medomak river. We are opposite Sampson's Cove on the Medomak river.
Our Leonbergers and Chinooks also call Dirigowoods home and we hike with them in the Summer and Fall and snowshoe and dogsled with them in the Winter.
