Rick and Martha Rick and Martha

Rick is a retired professional firefighter and active member of Firefighters local 1579. Rick served for 34 years in the Manchester, CT fire services. Rick currently volunteers with Digger, a certified therapy dogs at Lincoln health, the Lincoln home and Mobius Inc. Digger can often be seen around the town of Damariscotta and in Martha and Ricks Gallery, Gifts at 136.

Ricks hobbies are photography, recreational dog sledding, breeding Chinooks and harness racing.  
Community service includes pet therapy at local nursing homes and at Miles Hospital (Lincoln Healthcare) in Damariscotta , Maine.  

Martha is an attorney from Ohio. Martha left the daily routines of the Perry Greene Kennel when Rick retired to become Executive director of the Humane Society of Knox county. Martha did this for six years and brought in several new programs including a program at the local prison where prisoners live and train with shelter dogs. Martha is currently CEO of Safe Harbor Confections. Safe Harbor Confections is a wholesale artisan chocolate distributor. A portion of all sales are donated directly to animal welfare. Martha also owns and manages Gifts at 136 in Damariscotta, Maine, an award winning Gallery and Gift store. Martha is currently the program director for the Maine Federation of Humane Societies.

Rick and Martha both believe in community service and giving back to the communities where they live and work. Martha is a past director at the Waldoboro public library, past director of the Leonberger Club of America and donates blood regularly to the American Red Cross. Rick volunteered and cooked lobster at the Maine lobster festival Maine for many years and is a past director of the Chinook Owners Association.
